The data center design process starts with our client's management staff determining the business's data center needs, objectives and availability requirements. We then take responsibility to perform the required surveys of the existing systems and facilities. In coordination with all the clients responsible stake holders ( IT, Infosec, facilities , etc ) we identify and quantify the data center project needs and combine them with our understanding of the data centre best practices, trends and migrations strategies required to adapt future enhancements. As a result of this exercise, we develop the conceptual data center design from which we forecast the required budgets and schedules.
The key factor to a data center designs is the ability to provide continuous operations for the network services they support. Data center availability is affected by both planned (scheduled maintenance) and unplanned (failures) events. To maximize availability, the impact from each of these must be minimized and/or eliminated.
