OBS has the solutions, technical leadership and staff necessary to successfully guide your organization through an effective migration to new hardware/OS/database platform. We work with you to ensure the new platform meets current and future needs of your SAP systems.
SAP OS/DB Migration process is used when an Organization wants to move one or more of the SAP Solutions to different Operating System (OS), different Database (DB) System or even both OS and DB at the same time. For example you could move the HP-UX/Oracle to Windows/SQL Server or AIX/DB2 to Linux/MaxDB towards open source platform.
There are several reasons for companies to move their SAP applications to different Operating System (OS), different Database (DB) System or even both OS and DB at the same time. For example you could move the HP-UX/Oracle to Windows/SQL Server or AIX/DB2 to Linux/MaxDB.
Preparation: During our pre-planning session we will determine and alleviate compatibility issues between your Operating System, database, and SAP to make sure that they will function correctly together. The Preparation phase in the migration process is to take detail action on all aspects of migration planning.
Test migration: The Execution phase starts with migration of the "proof of concept" test system. Our migration process involves performing a test migration and applying all fixes. It is during this phase of the project that the key business processes and interfaces are tested. If there are fixes required due to OS/database platform changes, they are implemented and tested during this phase of the project.
Final Migration: The Go-Live phase we perform the migration of the production database and all dynamic data of SAP Production, interfaces and add-on systems. All changes and fixes are applied based on previous migration cycles. post go-live migration we check with SAP support and assist with implementing recommendations from SAP support.
